So there’s this series called the Vikings that started a while back. I didn’t get around to watching it due to a stacked TV schedule involving the usual suspects – namely Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and the truly fantastic Parks and Recreation.
This omission of viewing on my part has turned out to a good thing – we’re now into the start of series 3 which means 2 things:
1) The series hasn’t been cut which usually means it has to be at least watchable.
2) As it’s in Series 3 you can watch loads of episodes without having to be subjected to season breaks and the tedium of waiting for weekly episode releases.
A description of the show borrowed from the History channel goes like this:
“The adventures can of Ragnar Lothbrok: the greatest hero of his age. The series tells the saga of Ragnar’s band of Viking brothers and his family as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. As well as being a fearless warrior, Ragnar embodies the Norse traditions of devotion to the gods: legend has it that he was a direct descendant of Odin, the god of war and warriors”.
What it should say is this:
“Sheer awesomeness with added Axes”
Anyway this series gets a big thumbs up from The Man times, you can get it on DVD here
