The Best & Worst Celebrity First Pitches

In Baseball, the ceremonial first pitch used to be a big deal, until of course any old Tom Dick and harry turned up to throw the ball. What’s become plainly apparent is some teams love doing it more than others and some teams have more celebrity fans than others from the look of things, here’s our selection of the best and worst celebrity first pitches.

WORST

Carly Rae Jepsen

Here’s a terrible effort at a Tampa Bay Rays game from pasty colored pop one hit wonder Carly Rae Jepsen. This is a terrible effort, comfortably the worst attempt at simply throwing a ball I’ve ever seen!

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson

For a guy of his build and power, in fact for a guy in general this is pathetic! It can’t be explained. Only watched. He’s embarrassed himself in front of a crowd of New York Mets fans there, and they’re embarrassed enough already!

Cristiano Ronaldo

Terrible effort by Ronaldo here, so bad he insists on another crack of the whip! He may be multi-talented with his feet but its a damn good job he doesn’t throw stuff for a living!

Michael Jordan

Considering this man tried to embark on a baseball career this is pap, utter pap! he makes Ronaldo’s effort look good! Like Ronaldo it appears he’s struggled to judge the power required for the distance and somewhat overcooked it.

Nelly

He has better line than everyone else here but his length leaves a lot to be desired. If it wasn’t for a decent block from the catcher then this is going straight into the announcers knackers who frankly is poorly positioned.

BEST

Richard Sherman

A decent effort this from Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, down low straight to the glove. His effort is better than any of the other Seahawk’s efforts including part time baseball player Russell Wilson.

Colin Kaepernick

The San Francisco 49ers Quarterback was a highschool baseball star, so even though his pitch is a little wide, the catcher makes easy work of it. Even better it hits an impressive 87mph on the speed gun!

Matthew McConaughey

Fast and straight down the middle. An impressive effort from McConaughey, a definite strike right down the catcher’s throat. Textbook.

Dan Marino

No only does Marino throw a decent pitch at this Pittsburgh Pirates game there’s a nice slide on this one too. A nightmare for opposing players!

Mike “The Miz” Mizanin

The Cleveland Indians invited WWE star The Miz to throw out a first pitch at one of their games and his effort is nothing short of impressive. Fast and on Target, he even has a crack at psyching out the catcher!
