Six of the Best: British GP Crashes

After the chaotic British GP of the last weekend we decided to honor the chaos with Six of the best British Grand Prix crashes!

Jarno Trulli: 2004
Jarno Trulli decided his car had far to much carbon fibre on it and decided to go on a drastic weight reduction exercise with this splintering in the 2004 British GP.

Michael Schumacher: 1999

Who could forget this leg breaker from the 1999 British GP.  This crash virtually handed the title to his main rival Mika Hakkinen.

Gilles Villeneuve: 1981

Many argue that Gilles Villeneuve was the greatest racer of all time, and we certainly rate him here at TMT.  He manages to wipe out 2 other cars in the process of this crash which also deserves mucho respect!

Barichello & Blundell: 1995

A great coming together between these two.  A bit clumsy perhaps from Barichello, he manages to total his Jordan and make a mess of Blundell’s McLaren too.

Hill & Schumacher: 1995

A sign of the times with these two. Their titanic battles throughout the mid nineties were a staple of formula one at the time and featured some epic wheel to wheel racing!  In this incident Damon Hill doesn’t cover himself in too much glory.  Always nice to take out Schumacher though!

Jacques Laffitte: 1980

Frenchman Jacques Laffitte takes on a wire fence in this crash! Its a miracle he keeps his head!
